MAYAA HK runs spring break camps on Kathmandu for between 10 and 15 teenagers (16 to 18 years) from the French International School of Hong Kong.
The aims of these camps are three-fold:
Introduce these somewhat privileged youths to the poverty that the can exist in the world. To show them that they can help to make a difference to those in need, regardless of their age. To develop their social commitment and their willingness to give to others.
To live a group experience, where everyone accepts each other, simply as they are. To have a shared experience as a group that binds them together in the future.
And of course, to bring material aid to those who most need it in the slum areas of Kathmandu
